The third person (or rather thousands of people) in our relationship
So twitter is meant to be this fantastic instant form of communication.. Sweeping the country. The world. All the greats are now using it. Including my brilliant boyfriend. But it seems to be doing quite the opposite when it comes to our communicating. Why?
Well before twitter existed or before my boyfriend got hooked (a few weeks ago) I would get text messages from him telling me what he's up to, how his day is going, how he feels. Oh and he would send me great photos too. Sometimes of our cat Velvet who has recently put on weight, his new haircut or a recent photo which I particulary liked of him and Bruce Campbell..
But over the past few weeks those texts and photos to my mobile have gradually decreased. I now have to log onto twitter to read about his day, what he's up to, how he feels. Oh and to see photos he has taken. But I have to share what once felt like private messages between boyfriend and girlfriend with about 2 and a half thousand people (the number of people following him on twitter is rising by the minute). And sometimes I am the last to know about things. Random people who he's never met will find out before me that the woman giving blood before him was turned away. It may not sound important to know that kind of thing but it's those little messages that he would have sent just to me that I used to love.
Anyway, I must dash. I've got to go and check twitter to see what he's up to now.
